Fall is officially upon us and as the temperature begins to plummet, our tastebuds begin to change with the fall leaves. Our bodies crave warmth, comfort and fall flavors. After a full day of taking in all of nature’s fall galore, I settled in on a full bodied, lush, and comforting Aviary 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon. My skin still chilled from the cool air, this particular wine provided me a sprinkle of sunshine and wrapped my soul in a plush blanket. A perfect compliment with a warm fire, friends, and great conversation. This wine poured in our glasses, brought smiles to our faces.
The Aviary 2013 wasn’t the most expensive bottle on the shelf; but was full of rich flavors and a stinging warmth that radiated to my core. Dark berries swam in my glass and stung my tongue with a delicious blueberry pie taste coupled with pomegranate and smokey oak. The burn was slight yet comfortable. The wine seemed to hum on my tongue as it swished through my tastebuds and down my throat. An experience described best by indulging in this wine for yourself.
This Cab reins from Napa Valley and is the prize and product of an excellent growing season. The harvest was near perfect and the grapes were given the opportunity to ripen to their fullest potential. This gift from mother nature is evident in the smooth and balanced flavor of the wine. Blended to the point of perfection, drinking this vino was like peeling back layers of a private journal, frantically searching for the meaning and clues of its protected flavors.
At first glance this wine appears like a bag of rubies, with hues of cherry red. Thinner than expected the appearance of this wine played mind games with my tastebuds. An overall delightful experience, I can confidently recommend this wine as a stellar Cabernet Sauvignon.
